SCC-DSSG meetings are held the third Monday of the month from 6pm - 7:30pm during the school year. Check the monthly calendar for location/meeting details for that month. Families are welcome to attend - pizza/drinks are provided. Meetings are used to support/encourage one another, plan events, share information, bring in guest speakers and socialize with other families. Scholarships are available to active members in good standing.
(Last Saturday in September) The Buddy Walk was developed by the National Down Syndrome Society (NDSS) to promote acceptance and inclusion of people with Down Syndrome. The annual walk is our only fundraising event - a portion of our proceeds will go to NDSS to fund research and advocacy for persons with Down Syndrome.The remainder of the funds will stay in St. Clair County to benefit the members of our group.

World Down Syndrome Day (WDSD) is an annual
March 21 celebration and global awareness day officially observed by the United
Nations since 2012. March 21 (3/21) was selected to signify the uniqueness of the
triplication (trisomy) of the 21st chromosome which causes Down syndrome.
